All these terrific pics are from Aaron Mizushima from the 1st day of the Sandy Beach Championships. The wahines were charging or what! Mahalo to Aaron for sharing these with us all. He also donated several of his framed prints. He take great shots!

The 1st Annual HSBA Sandy Beach Bodysurfing Championships is ON this Saturday and Sunday. Need all competitors sign in, pre-registered at 7am and then beach entries after! 17yrs and younger will need their parents/guardians signature on the waiver forms.

Aloha HSBA Ohana & Friends,

The 2010 HSBA 1st Annual Sandy Beach Bodysurfing Championships entry form is attached here in this message.  Please pre-register before 15 May 2010 to reserve your entry into this inaugural kaha nalu event at Halona Point, Sandy Beach, Oahu! It will be $20 for all 17 years and under and $25 for the rest of us 18 yrs and over. Bodysurfing heats will be by age divisions for kane (men) 17yrs and under, 18-24yrs, 25-34yrs, 35-44yrs, 45-54yrs and 55yrs and over, open for wahine (women). There will also be two events for handboarding. An open handboarding for men and another for wahine.

Mandatory check-in on the first day of the event 7-8am 22 May 2010 for all pre-registered competitors and 8-9am for all beach entries. No guarantee for beach entries, first come first served. See attached entry form for more information. (link above...)

Aloha HSBA and Friends,

The HSBA Board met last week and decided to have our annual Sandy Beach Cleanup after the Sandy Beach Bodysurfing Championship which is 22-23 and/or 29-30 May 2010.

Our annual cleanup will probably be during late June 2010.  More dates, times and info on this in the future.

We are trying to finalize the contest entry form.  We are looking for ideas for a contest hotline.  Any ideas are welcome from you.

Looking for sponsorship (cash/prizes) for the 1st Annual HSBA Sandy Beach Bodysurfing Championships. We are going to have a killer art design of a Chamber barrel with a Hawaiian Monk Seal indabarrel by Patrick Ching on our inaugural contest shirt!  Mark your calendars and spread the word on the last two weekends of May for this kaha nalu event at Halona Point.

HSBA Sandy Beach Bodysurfing Championships will be the LAST two weekends in May and not the first two. Mark your calendars 22-23 &/or 29-30 May 2010 for this HSBA kaha nalu event!!

Congrats to Mike Stewart and everyone involved! Sorry I wasn't there to support. I was working all day Sunday! Mahalo to Greg for shooting another wonderful kaha nalu event and to the North Shore Lifeguards for keeping this great kaha nalu event going on the north shore!  I hope to see you all at Sandys for the HSBA Sandy Beach Bodysurfing Championships the first two weekends of May.

Aloha HSBA Members FYI/A,

The HSBA board is requesting help in the design of the 2010 Sandy Beach Bodysurfing Championships contest shirts. We know there are some talent in our membership. The board will be meeting this coming Thursday for more guidance of what we are looking for. We are planning to hold the contest on a Saturday and Sunday (2-day event) possibly the early half of May. This is pending getting all the permits and insurances by that time.

The HSBA board will be seeking help from you all to run this event once we are schedule to go. I know we have many motivated people in the HSBA ready to help!  More information to come to you all soon!
